Card making has all but ground to a hault for me this summer, been busy gardening and then this past week I've been helping my neighbour prepare for the local agricultural show which is on this weekend.
The DST was however brought into action today as I was asked to make a nurse leaving card. I found a super new image from Papernest Dolls for the job and teamed her up with Basic Grey paper. A simple card, focusing mainly on the image, and a touch of accents added to the stethoscope.
Today is my Dad's Birthday, and as it's me that's hosting the challenge over at an Oldie But a Goodie this time, I thought I'd pick a theme that would help me create his card. So todays challenge is
Fruit & Veg
(Please also use something older than 6 months on your card and tell us what it is)
Now my Dad is a super keen gardener and veggies are his speciality (although he's also very good at growing roses and keeping his grass in tip-top condition,) so here are a few inspirational pics of his garden to help you with your creations.
For my card, I chose a JustInklined garden themed digi, called Gardener's Harvest - Available Here which I thought would be perfect for my Dad. I've had it for over 6 months, kept specially for this card! As for my card, well it's nice and simple with kraft and a charm, burlap and neutral papers. All my colouring is done using Promarkers.
Finally, I've decided it was time to reduce my design team commitments and stand down from the OBAG team. It's almost 3 years since I started with the team and it was my first DT position. Thanks Fran for having me on the team, I've had loads of fun and met some fantastic bloggers through my time here.
And as a little thank you, I have a little stamp prize for this weeks winner - it's the garden themed Penny Black slapstick shown below;
So how's everybody today? Summer holidays for the Scottish schools are now in full swing - not that that concerns me now with both boys left! With the summer season, MAWTT decided to drop to being a fortnightly challenge to give us DT ladies a rest. Somehow or other I haven't noticed the difference though as I flipped teams last challenge and now I'm back to team A, so as of yet I haven't had a break! Not that I mind though as I was eager to use my new Art Impressions stamp for the latest challenge as today we are looking for Nice Bright Summer Colours as we take on a
and use the colours below for inspiration...
For my card, I picked up on the torquoise and green shades and made this...
The image is a new one I got from Art Impressions, the sentiment tags LOTV and the paper MME, Be Amazed.
Sponsoring us this week is Clare, a past DT member of MAwtt and she is offering our lucky winner the robot stamp set below,
This week, Bugaboo are holding their 4th annual Christmas in July event and as I'm a huge fan, I used this week long challenge to boost my Christmas card stocks and get me back on track with Christmas production. Rather than post my cards daily, I decided to do a couple of posts containing all 7 cards.
Challenges pertaining to each card are listed beneath.
Day 1 - Saturday Santa Challenge
Made using Chimney Santa - Available here.
It's a good job I did have this prepared in advance as we ended up in Aberdeen last night staying over for a little break. Watched a DVD, Philomena, with Judi Dench and Steve Coogan, best film I've seen in ages so I recommend it to you all. A great story, funny, sad, moving and true. Jx
And here is my fun card using a great Stamping Bella image and some pretty Bo Bunny papers. Flowers are WOC - ages since I've used any and the doily is pinched from Stella next door!
Now to add a bit of fun to the proceedings, I'm offering the winner a £10 gift voucher from LOTV.
This was to be my blog hop prize last week but due to technical difficulties it never made it to my post.
For more inspiration, please head back to the main MAWTT page where you can see the rest of the DT's great cards.
Now, flipping back to last week and my blog hop winner... well it's comment 34
Who just so happens to be my old Do-craft buddy who I still chat to regularly ... Sam/Whisper!!!! Yeah, couldn't think of a better home, hmm if she used Promarkers! So come on Sam, now's your chance as you'll be getting a super starter pack with loads of great shades!
Finally can I just say that my Race For Life total has now reached £190 for Cancer Research and that I've added a few more photo's from the race for those interested, Thanks again to any one who sponsored me. Jx
As You Like It - Animals or People - In real life I like both. In the crafty world I love both, but my clear favourite this week has to be people, cause I'm so pleased with my colouring on this one. Hope that doesn't sound big headed!
