Christmas Ornament goes White

This card uses one of my favourite Christmas stamps from a few years back, I've used it so much, I just hope I've not sent it to the same people more than once!

It was however the perfect shape for the sketch on CCWS so I dug it out & got colouring with my Promarkers.

As always, WoW cards are difficult to photograph, so I photoed this outside in the sunshine without the flash - but don't be fooled, it's back to freezing outside again!

Challenges;
CCWS - What a lovely sketch with the added twist of a WoW theme
ABS Christmas - "F" for flurry/feathered already!
Crafty Ann's - Christmas in March
Made Espesially for You - Use distress inks - all those edges were given a lick of Tim Holtz Stormy Sky
My Mum's Craft Shop - Stamp it
CHCC - Get Sentimantal
Di's Digi Designs - Embossing
Cupcake Crafts - The Sound of Music - White Christmas

& that's it for a few days as I'm off to Inverness tomorrow. Jx

Mori

This is the first time I've used this new Sugar Nellie stamp - I was lucky enough to win it a blog candy when these new stamps were released by Funky Kits. Thanks Sugar Mama!

Anyway, she's quite a tall girl by normal stamp dimensions, but once coloured, she was perfect for the current Sugar Bowl sketch challenge. Papers are the lovely Tulip by Andrea Jayne, & the embellishments are pine from a local shop.

22.8 deg C @ Fyvie Castle!

Well a record was set here in Aberdeenshire today, the temperature reached a cracking 22.8 degrees at Fyvie Castle, just down the road from us, & I honestly think our garden wasn't far off from that temp too!

So no guesses where I was today hence the distinct lack of cards - well not quite, I had coloured & cut ont this very seasonal offering yesterday, so tonight at Dancing on Ice I stuck it together.

So, this card uses another fabulous Bugaboo digi image, it's coloured with Promarkers, I've added Stickles, embossed bits & used my Marianne Star Ring Die.

Challenges;
CCWS - Another lovely sketch to follow.
Winter Wonderland - An Inspirational wreath picture, so I went with the colours & a door, cause that's normally where you hang them1

Easter Wishes

I can't believe it, March has almost been and gone, we've had no snow and the weather has been fantastic. So much so, I was that busy in the garden that I almost forgot to make my card for the new Oldie But Goodie Challenge.

However after tea on Sunday, I set to work with this great Penny Black stamp & my Forever Friends papers and out popped this card!

The challenge this time has been set by Francesca and she has very generously put up a prize for our lucky winner... a lovely Easter Selection, including papers, flowers, ribbons & stamps! The theme this time round is

Easter Wishes

As well as making your card to theme please also use an item older than 6 months and specify what it was. (My oldie was the stamp - made in 2004, when I too was a mere Spring Chicken!!!

Christmas Cupcake

It's a while since I've made a Christmas card, so I thought I'd better get one made so that I'm still on schedule for 1 Xmas card/week.

This card came together surprisingly quickly. After staring at the CCWS sketch for well over a week, I hit on an idea tonight & here is the result.

I absoultely love this Christmas Cupcake stamp by Bugaboo. I'm normally a traditional kinds fan, but there's something about this glitzy beauty that I love!

Papers are that old Dovecraft pack that I'm getting through but still lovin! Sentiment LOTV & glitx from Stickles.

... but I love my husband!

So, yesterdays shabby post - sorry for the content, but it was computer meltdown! Today, thanks to my fantastic husband, I'm up and running again - lost a few bits on the desktop so there's still work to be done, but it's a million times better than it was.

I would also like to say sorry to Craig if he's reading this - he felt I was a bit grumpy and a tad ungrateful last night as he spent most of the night trying to fix things for me. So, yes, I admit it, I was in a bad mood cause I couldn't blog & I may have behaved slightly badly - but only slightly - if you'd fixed it quicker I wouldn't have sulked off to bed!!!

Anyway, my other news - my birthday treat - 12 letters one of the "c" - it was in fact,theatre tickets to see the opening night of Dirty Dancing, & it was brilliant! We went for a meal first at 1906 the theatre restaurant, which was very good, then on to the show. The cast, music, costumes & scene changes were amazing and it was a lovely birthday surprise.

I'd also like to say a huge thank you to all my friends & blog buddies who sent me cards & pressies for my birthday. You are all so generous & thoughtful, so thank you all so much.

Finally, a pic of the beautiful orchid Craig gave me - perfect timing Mr with my orchid card just made - isn't this one a beauty! Jx

I Hate Computers

This will be short as I'm on Craig's lappy as my computer has decided not to play ball! After an antivirus update all the icons decided to up sticks and skidadle! Hopefully I'll manage to upload my card as it's for a couple of challenges.

No cropping or anything fancy, just uploaded!

As for my birthday news - well I had a lovely day out and hopefully I'll be able to tell you all about it once my computer is restored! Jx

Skye's Orchid Sketch

Have any of you checked out the Bugaboo store recently? Things are changing over there! Now, not only do they have cartoon style characters (that I love,)they now have more serious stuff too! Jodie's, (owner & artist @ Bugaboo) daughter Skye is also a very talented artist, & her Mum has turned some of her sketches into lovely digi's for us to play with.

So, that leads me on to the purpose of this post - another Oldie But A Goodie Challenge, this time chosen by Laurie, & the theme is,

Mum's The Word

Now we're lucky enough to be sponsored by...can you guess??? Yup it's Bugaboo, hence I'm using their stamp - (like I need an excuse!)

That means one lucky winner could collect 7 digi's from Bugaboo if they are the lucky chosen one. Remember, to enter the challenge you MUST follow the theme AND also use & identify something which you used which was older than 6 months.

The digi I chose for the challenge this time was Orchids, it's coloured with Promarkers & set on MME six by six papers. The lovely ribbon is from The Ribbon Girl & the border punch used is a Dovecraft.

The ribbon & the LOTV sentiment stamp are both older than 6 months.

Finally, why not go over to the main blog, to check out the other DT cards, before making your own. Hope you can join us this time, Jx

Challenges;
Sketch n Stash - Their sketch
Catch The Bug - Anything Goes
Passion For Promarkers - For Mum/Female relative.

Bambino Boy

When I'm asked to make baby cards, I often find it best to make both cause, in the words of my Dad, " As sure's a cat's a hairy beast", I'll make the wrong one!

...so here's the boy version of the one I did yesterday.

Now I would never have thought of putting kraft on a baby card, but as it was part of the Sugar Bowl challenge, I did - & I love it - think it goes really well.

Challenges;
Sugar Bowl - Sketch & optional kraft. Jx

Digi Bambino

Today has been another busy one for me. Been for a run first thing then after that I went to blood donors.

I therefore now have the perfect excuse to sit on my butt for the rest of the day & make cards!

So that's what I intend to do, & this is the first offering, a baby card using the digi Bambino stamp by Sugar Nellie. This stamp was very popular when first released, but as per, it took me a while to get it - & even longer to use it! Sugar Nellie do however have a new batch of stamps just released so I hope to be quicker off the mark this time!
