Hay There

Back to Bugaboo...& lovin it!

This digi from Bugaboo is just so fun to work with - well they all are really!

I've made it for my other niece this time, along with the following challenges;

For Fun Challenges - Farm Animals
Papertake - Their great sketch
Craft Us Crazy - Animals
Sweet Stampin - Animals Jx

Painted Lady On Musk Mallow

- the title of the post is the stamp name - not even I could think up one like that!

Not very keen on the stamp name, but I so love the stamp. It's one out of my mega Christmas box that Craig bought for me after following up an add in the local paper for someone selling their card making stuff.

I'm really pleased with this card, the colours work really well together & the image is beautiful. I've coloured it with Promarkers, double stamped the butterfly & decorated the card with stamped flowers & card candi. Papers are by Andrea Jayne.

Challenges:

Sketch & Stash - use an old sketch - I chose SnS 18

MAWTT - Blooming Marvellous
My Mums Craft Shop - Flowers
Make My Monday - Dragonflies or butterflies
The Crazy Challenge - Flowers
Party Time Tuesday - Anything Goes
Fussy & Fancy - Dots Jx

Dancing On Ice

Oh I have loved making this card - I made it last night whilst watching one of my favourite programs - Dancing on Ice. Think all the ice skating helped me create my card, that and the fact that it's made with tons of love for my niece, Sarah - who just happens to love ice skating with her auntie Jan!

My card sees the return of the Bugaboo (- well you seriously didn't think I'd kicked that habit did you?)and these lovely digi skates. They are coloured with Promarkers and arranged on Craft Companion paper. The diecuts are Marianne and the ribbons & buttons were just what I had lying around (Actually there's quite a lot lying around that's why I'd never show WOYWW!)

Challenges:

Stella says Sketch - another beauty ladies
Party Time Tuesday - Use the Blue/Grey colour pallet
CRAFT - Use a digi & Ribbon & buttons Jx

New York Rudolph

Now not many people know this, but Rudolph comes from New York! Well this one did, all the way from a lovely little shop in Greenwich Village when we were over there last October.

I didn't use him that much last year, but I intend to put him through his paces this!

This time, I've combined him with Dovecraft papers and glazed a few bits to come up with this;

Challenges:

Christmas Challenges with Sketches - Just love this challenge & this great sketch!
Weekly Christmas Card Challenge - Favourite technique - Colouring with Promarkers, amongst many other favourites! (I had actually made this one for last weeks colouring challenge, but missed the close!)
CHCC No 57 - Make it square Jx

I Give You My Heart

Before I buy any new stamps this year, the plan is to use all the previously bought ones which so far haven't seen the light of day! One such stamp, is this little beauty from Sugar Nellie. Now is fairness, my last blog post was a tad shocking - minimal would be a good way to describe it, but I was rushing to make the Sugar Bowl challenge deadline, anyway, as the Sugar Bowl challenge is one of my favourites, I thought I'd give it the respect it deserved, a decent post and a card prepared in plenty of time!

Now the papers used in this one are again from a little pack bought from a prize voucher at Crafty Emma's - they are just lovely, but no name supplied. Colouring is done by Promarkers. The sentiment is LOTV & the ribbon from Hobbycraft - it's also lovely other than the fact it never sits straight!

Challenges;
Sugar Bowl - & a great sketch which I will hopefully use again & paper piecing.
I Love Promarkers - Pink & purple
Penny's Paper Crafty - Ribbon & buttons
Crazy 4 Challenges - Layer it on - Lots of layers
Charisma Cards - Pretty In Pink
Secret Crafter Sat Challenge - Ribbons
Allsorts - Hearts - on the end of the stick above the water!
Crafty Emma's Store - Check it out - one of the pink papers
Penny Black & More - Love & Hearts - thanks Brenda for the reminder! Jx

Will add more after tea!

Thinking Of You

Always a difficult card to make, but after finding this Bugaboo image, the job was that much easier.

Challenges;

Die Cut Dreams - Sympathy
Sweet Stampin - WoW Jx

Monster Trucks

Well this was a fun card to do - lots of different bit and bobs all added in to come up with something quite different!

To start off with, the brown backing paper started life as a paper bag. The big buttons on the other hand were off an old coat. The image is a Bugaboo coloured with Promarkers & the finishing touches were made with twine & glaze on the window & flame.

This one was made for a number of challenges including;

Craft Your Days Away - Distressing
Passion For Promarkers - Recycle something - Brown paper bag & coat buttons
Papertake - Glitter or Glaze - I chose glaze for the flame & glass Jx

Have A Heart

Morning everyone, and welcome to another Oldie But Goodie Challenge post and a new challenge, this time set by Debs with the theme of

Have A Heart

So there's lots of scope here, there's the obvious Valentine's card, but anything love & romance can enter as long as it follows the theme and has a heart. To enter, you must also use (& specify what it is)something which is older that 6 months old.

Can't wait to see what you all come up with!

The winner this time will win 5 lovely digi stamps from Robyn's Fetish Designs.

Now onto my card, well I went down the Valentine line & made this little number;

The image & sentiment are Bugaboo Stella, coloured with Promarkers, & the papers were from a small pre-cut pack from Crafty Emma's store - But aren't named (- they are lovely though so I wish I'd bought more!)
The webbing is from my stash, & the oldie bit is the red rose - it's actually made of metal & I bought a pack of them in a grocers when we were in Germany last summer - wish our grocers sold stuff like that!

Now pop over the the main challenge blog to see the other lovely makes by the rest of the design team.

Finally, challenges;

Craft Us Crazy - Valentine/Love
Crafty Creations - Valentines
MAWTT - Things with wings - The Lovely Goddess of Love herself - Stella!
Wags & Whiskers - Valentines
Poodles Parlour - Valentines

This Could Be Femo!

Femo is my 2 year old grey & white cat - she's a bit of a wee rascal and is an avid ornithologist!

This Bugaboo image made me think of her, so obviously I had to have it!

My card today is for Sarah, my other niece - so auntie Liz better keep her off my blog for a bit or she'll spot it posted early!!!

I've kept this one really simple, I started off following the Catch the Bug Challenge sketch, but I think I've probably deviated too much from it to enter - we'll see.

The bold colours on the image worked really well alongside the bright sentiment ribbon that I thought to add more would look cluttered. Jx

Challenges;

Catch the Bug - I wanted to enter the card but I've a feelin you'll tell me I'm not close enough to the sketch?

Day 5 Bugaboo Mini Challenge

But first a question... "Does the Bugaboo do housework?" cause I sure don't when a week long challenge is running!

So, glossing over the fact the house is a tip, we will move on to today's card - the last one in the Bugaboo Birthday Celebration. It's been such a fun week, with a new challenge every day. I've really enjoyed it, but as they say, all good things come to an end. Hopefully ending on a high though as I loved the Friday Freebie - A Guinea Pig available here, FREE to download.

I've combined the little fella with gorgeous kraft Fun Day papers from My Mind's Eye along with a ribbon & buttons, and that's about it.

Challenges;
Bugaboo Mini Challenge Day 5 - Use the Friday Freebie & 3 papers
Sketch n Stash - Their Brilliant sketch
I Love Promarkers - Anything goes - Promarkers used for all colourings
Penny's Paper Crafty Challenge - Ribbon & buttons
Craft Challenge - Use a Number - On one of the papers used
Do You Stack Up - Patterned papers Jx

Anna Elizabeth

I've made this card - not primarily for a challenge, but for a family member who's just had their first baby. My card is an easel, so I can also add birth details, & it uses a Bugaboo baby image - which I've not used before.

...now I said it wasn't made specifically for a challenge - but that doesn't mean that I shouldn't enter it, if it just so happens to fit some - it would be rude not to!

Challenges;

Divas By Design - New Beginnings
Winter Wonderland - Easel card Jx

Bugaboo Mini Challenge Day 4

Today is day 4 of the week long Bugaboo Mini Challenge so it's another Bugaboo card from me again - like I need an excuse.

Anyway, today I chose a sentiment as the main focal point of my card - I know Bugaboo are renowned for their humorous characters & quotes, but they do do sensible stuff too! So this card is made using one of their lovely friendship sentiments.

My simple card follows the sketch given in the Day 4 Mini challenge and is completed with gems, daisy ribbon & a Marianne Design, embossed die cut.

Challenges;
Catch The Bug - Day 4 Mini Challenge - Use the sketch
Charisma Cardz - Clean & Simple
For Fun Challenges - Anything Goes Jx

Bugaboo Mini Challenge Day 3

Well that's me just over half way in the Bugaboo Birthday Challenge Week. This is such a great celebration, a different challenge each day to be completed by the end of the week. The only problem is, the more I make & see, the more Bugaboo images I want - boy this is a slippery slope!

Talking of slippery slopes, (A Ronnie Corbett link if ever there was!), it has been really frosty these past few days. The ground has been white with frost all day the temperatures barely lifting above freezing. Today however is a lot milder, my washing is out & I'm having a bit of a play before getting back to my jobs!

So, my day 3 card;

The Bugaboo shoe image has been brightly coloured, with gems added along with the black stuff - not sure of it's proper name, but you all know what I mean!

Challenges;

Catch The Bug - Mini Challenge Day 3 - Bling & Primary Colours
My Mum's Craft Shop - Favourite Colours - Red & Black
Party Time Tuesday - Happy Birthday Jx

Tuesday 17 January 2012

Bugaboo...Colin? - Bugaboo Mini Challenge Day 2

I knew as soon as I saw this Bugaboo image, I had to get it - it looks kinda like Colin, my youngest - & his birthday is next month, so the timing was perfect too.

Now anybody who knows Colin, knows he likes a laugh - so the google eyes were a must too. Hope he likes it, it certainly gave me a laugh when it was in the making!

The image as always is coloured with Promarkers, the border punch is Martha Stewart, & the card is finished off with ribbon, a button & twine.

Challenges;
The main one has to be the mad Bugaboo Mini challenge week - Tuesday Entry - Use the new release & add a bow - mine is on the button.
Lady Bug Crafts - Bows
Passion For Promarkers - Humour Jx

Monday 16 January 2012

Football Crazy

..Although it's probably more accurate to say Bugaboo crazy at the moment!

This is my 3rd card of the day (- guess what I did yesterday!)

It's another new digi I got from Bugaboo, & it's coloured red for Aberdeen/Man U/Liverpool & all the other red teams!

Now it's not that obvious from that first picture, but the two embossed panels are full of stars & the football has been re-printed, cut & decoupaged onto the original for added depth.

Challenges;

Stella Says Sketch - Another beauty!
Totally Gorjuss - Use A star
I Love Promarkers - Cute & Cuddly - He does look cuddly doesn't he
Crafty Catz - Use something new - First card with my new digi stamp.
Stamps R Us - Just Kidding Around - Children's cards.
Cards For Men - Boys & their toys - Guess a football counts! Jx

Ballerina Eilidh - Bugaboo Mini Challenge Day 1

My niece will be 6 in a few months time and is a very keen ballerina. She spoke to me at length about how she wanted to do ballet & when she started school, my sis enrolled her in a class. Sadly the Christmas concert where Eilidh was due to perform was cancelled when we had all that snow in Dec, but I eagerly await the re-scheduled date!

So, my card - the stamp was just perfect! Another Bugaboo digi, coloured with Promarkers & set on Andrea Jayne linen paper. (Didn't realise it was linen till I opened the pack, but it's got a lovely texture so it was a good buy.)

Challenges;

Catch The Bug - Mini Challenge Mon - Twos - Two papers - spots & stripes
Sketch Saturday - Their lovely sketch
MAWTT - Spots & Stripes
The Ribbon Girl - Pink & Blue
One Stop Crafts - On the spot + ribbon - I'm hoping that lace is acceptable
Stamptacular Sunday - 2 Textures - Lace, Linen Paper, Embossing punch. Jx

Christmas Angel

Following on from my Bugaboo Snow card last week, I thought I'd play with Bugaboo Angel.

The papers are Craft Companion & the card is finished off with stickles, glaze & twine.

Challenges;
CHCC - Use a digi - Bugaboo Angel digi
Christmas Card Challenges - Flourishes - On the paper used.
Sweet Stampin - Glitter & bling - Stickles on wings Jx

Sunday 15 January 2012

Vintage Bingo

I normally shy away from Vintage challenges as it's a style I find really hard, but with the aid of my Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Bingo stamps, things came together quite nicely for a change!

The papers are My Mind's Eye, the sentiment is LOTV & the flowers made using my Marianne die.

Challenges;
Crafty Emma - Vintage Jx

Happy Birthday Bugaboo

Bugaboo stamps are celebrating their 2nd birthday this week and have loads of things organised to keep us busy. The first is the challenge over on Catch The Bug which is to make a birthday card.

My card uses the Friday freebie from a couple of weeks back & some Doodlebug papers.
I'm also entering this one into;
Winter Wonderland Challenge - Birthdays
The Secret Crafter - Anything Goes with Blue Jx

Friday 13 January 2012

Frosty The Snowman

There are so many snowmen stamps out there, and one of my current favourites has to be this digi one from Bugaboo. I did start off making this card using snowflake papers, but in the end, I went for the white look & inky edges.

I'm entering this one into the great, Christmas Challenges with sketches - a challenge I found late last year, but its one that I already love, as well as the Papertake Challenge which is Die "cute" special and A Passion For Promarkers - Inspired by a song..."Frosty The Snowman". Jx

Challenges;
Stella Say's Sketch - A brilliant sketch
Latinas en America - Torquoise
Make It Monday - Anything Goes Jx

First Christmas Card of 2012

I couldn't bring myself to start on this years Christmas cards any earlier! I've put it off almost a couple of weeks now, but then a couple of challenges and a Bugaboo stamp came along to tempt me!

The image is coloured with Promarkers & mounted on silver mirror card - though it looks black with the flash! The baubles are then glazed & the snow flocked!

Challenges;
Do You Stack Up - Let it snow
ABC Christmas - "a" for anything goes
Crafting For All Seasons - Snowmen & snowflakes,
Craft Us Crazy - Anything New/Humorous - Christmas - New snowman digi Jx

Happy Engagement!

This card was made for a friend of my sisters for a couple who got engaged on Hogmanay. I've used my Sugar Nellie, Happily Ever After stamp & some Wild Rose Studio - Wedding Bells papers for the job, & added a flower & ribbon to finish things off nicely. I've also made it an easel so I can personalise the card a bit more.

Challenges;
Sunday Sketch & Stamp - Lovely sketch ladies, Jx

Tuesday 10 January 2012

Baby Bathtime

Using a pre-coloured Pink Gem digi & some Doodlebug papers, I made this quick card.

Meet Bugaboo Stella

Well this is the first Oldie But A Goodie challenge of 2012, and its set by none other than myself! The challenge this time is to make a card following the theme

Back to Work

The rules for our challenge have changed a bit this year and you can now use digi and rubber stamps for the Oldie But Goodie Challenges, the stamps don't even have to be six months old! You do however have to use something that's 6 months old or older on your card, but that could be papers, embellishments, ribbons etc, so hopefully loads more of you will now join the challenges. (You also need to specify the oldie!)

Now we are lucky enough to have Bugaboo as our sponsor to this challenge and they are offering the winner their own choice of 7 Bugaboo stamps!

As some of you may be aware (if you're not, scroll down to my previous posts) I'm a big Bugaboo fan, so it was with great delight I set to work making my challenge card using one of their great Stella images.

She's coloured with Promarkers and simply arranged in another CAS card. My Oldie bit was the Get Well Soon stamp - a 6month+ Woodware stamp.

For more inspiration, why not view the other DT members cards over on the main Oldie But A Goodie Challenge Blog then join us in our first challenge of 2012.

Challenges;
TCP Tuesday - Embossing
Tip Top Tuesday - Anything Goes
Deep Ocean Challenge - Lots of White
Lady Bug Crafts Inc - Anything Goes + New stash items - My New Bugaboo Stella is it!
Wags & Whiskers - White on White + 1 other colour - mine's blue, Jx

So, I'm entering him into the following challenges;

Here Come the Boys - Their great sketch
Papertake Weekly - Anything goes
Crafty Emma - Anything goes Jx

Brilliant Bugaboo - THANK YOU!

Just thought I'd let you all know how much I'm loving my Bugaboo's this year! I first visited their site at the end of last year, when they very kindly agreed to be a 2112 sponsor to the Oldie But A Goodie Challenge where I'm on the DT.

So when I heard about them I popped over to their site and saw a fantastic selection of digi stamps, with brilliant cartoon characters & images & the funniest captions to go with them. I could have spent a fortune - but didn't, as they had a half price sale on, so I bought a few & thought I'd enter a few Bugaboo sponsored challenges to win more.

This I did in great style!!!

First I won the Catch The Bug Challenge and got the 7 free digi prize...this however turned into 14 FREE digi's as the half price sale was on.

Next, I was entered into their New Year Prize draw cause I'd placed an order in the specified time period - & low and behold I won that too. So that was a $50 gift voucher to spend in their store!

...So now can you see why I love Bugaboo!

Thank you so much Bugaboo, you have been so kind, both to me and to loads of others through sponsoring so many challenges in 2012. I really wish your stamp company well, & hope you make a real success of things. Jx

Friday Freebies @ Bugaboo

If you haven't visited Bugaboo Stamps yet, why not hop over now? Did you know that every Friday, they offer a different freebie for you to download, so even if you are a bit short of cash after Christmas, or if like me, you've made a resolution not to buy more stamps till you've inked the ones you have, you can get these & still be good!

A couple of weeks back, it was this cute boxer who was the freebie, this week it's a cute guy holding a sign - just waiting for your personalised greeting.

So blog-hop over to Bugaboo & give them a try - I'm so pleased I did! Jx

Challenges;
Catch The Bug - Anything goes.

Tag, You're It!

Today is a quick post showing a tag I made yesterday to hang on a jar of home-made marmalade, also prepared yesterday. Colin got a tin of marmalade mix as a Christmas present, so put on his chef's hat and got cooking!

Have only tasted the marmalade hot so far, but am off for a proper tasting now as it's cool and just waiting to be spread on my toast!

The tag is made using the Penny Black stamp, birthday recipe coloured with Promarkers.

I'm entering this one into the PBSC - Tags Jx

Recycling

We've all done this haven't we, held on to something for ages then chucked it out only to discover a use for it a short time after! Hopefully this will not be the case with me as I start to tidy out our loft - a much overdue job!

Anyway, onto the card, well it's a Bugaboo Stella this time, again coloured with Promarkers then the card is finished off with twine & a big button.

I'm entering this one into a few challenges, including;

Inspirational Card Sketches - Use an old sketch, so I chose ICS 137
Creative Craft - Resolutions - Mine is to tidy up more & not just dump stuff in the loft!
ABC Challenge - G for Go Green/Recycle - Well the twine is recycled from a t-shirt tag, & I think Stella is doing her bit in the image too as I'm sure that box is heading for a charity shop & not the dump! Jx

Tuesday 3 January 2012

Thanks A Bunch

Well this card is made with a Bugaboo image, coloured with Promarkers.

and I've made it for the current Passion For Promarkers Challenge - Thank-you. Jx
