More Mono!

I'm quite liking playing around with my monochrom Christmas cards, so here's another offering. Again I've used a Penny Black stamp with my shades of grey, promarkers. Paper is Anitas.

I'm entering this card into the Crafty Creations Challenge which is Xmas is Coming, along with the first Simply Create Challenge which again is Christmas, but with glitter - mine is on my snowflake. Jx

Magna Girl's Back

I stamped & coloured this image ages ago, which turned out nice & handy cause I've a girls card to do for early Dec. I'm quite into my embossing these days again, & love my MS border punch, so I've combined both for the backing. Finally there's a wild orchid rose bud in the top corner.

I'm entering my card into this weeks Papertake Challenge which is Cut it Out & also Crafty Cardmakers Challenge which is White & Splash.

Monochrom It Is!

2 of the challenges I regularly do are both set as monochrom this week, so this card ticks both those boxes, along with the layout one for The Friday Sketchers Challenge.

Again I've used my PB hedgehog stamp Exhilirating, but instead of the colours of the last few weeks, I've just gone with shades of grey. All colouring done with promarkers.

So, I'm entering this into The Penny Black Saturday Challenge, Allsorts Challenge , Friday Sketchers. And the Crafty Creations Challenge which is, Christmas is coming & finally, Crafty Catz Challenge, which is also Christmas. Jx

Gorgeous Girl

I had to buy this stamp, as it's my niece Eilidh's absolute favourite. Normally I do her with blonde hair just like Eilidh, but this time I've gone for black, in keeping with the black/white + 1 other colour theme for the Sugarbowl Challenge. As always, we have a great layout to follow with this challenge too.

I'm also entering this one into the I Love Promarkers Challenge which this week is anything goes.

Finally this card can also go into the My Partner in Crafting Crime challenge, where their challenge too is black/white + one other.

Skiing Hedgie!

I'm loving playing with this new stamp, and as we are allowed to enter 3 cards each month into the Penny Black @ Allsorts Challenge, it would be rude not to do so!

Their current challenge is, "It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas."

Tilda

I love paper piecing, so loved the challenge set by Top Tip Tuesday this week which was layer upon layer & paper piecing. Jx

Exhilarating

Well PB Saturday team, I've used your stamp, (thanks again), I've followed your tutorial, (thanks Debbie) & I've even followed the layout in this weeks Penny Black Saturday Challenge. Not sure that the snowflakes add anything to the card but as it was a challenge element, they had to go on!

I'm also entering this one into the Penny Black @ Allsorts Challenge this month where the theme is, "It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas."

Lilac Snoowie

I've made this card using my Magnolia Snoowie stamp to tie in with the snowman theme on the I Love Promarkers Challenge. I've chosen lilac as my colour to tie in with the Bah Humbug Challenge, & finally I've followed the layout on the Sketch Saturday Challenge.
Papers, Doodlebug. Ribbon, Fantastic Ribbons.

Get Well Soon

I love this Woodware doctor stamp, & thought he was perfect for this weeks Crafty Catz Challenge which was to make a get well card.
So using Basic Grey papers and the layout given by Friday Sketchers I made my card. As I've added buttons, I'm also entering it into this weeks Top Tip Tuesday Challenge. Jx

Rudolph

I struggled with this card 2 nights ago when I tried to do the corner diagonals in paper. With a change of plan and a raid on the ribbon box my card eventually came together!

I followed the sketch on Sketch Saturday, so I'll enter my card in that one. I also used a reindeer, which was this weeks Bah Humbug Challenge.

I also added distressing which was last weeks Oldie But Goodie Challenge - missed that one, but luckily for me, this weeks challenge is glitter so hey ho, it can do that one as well!

Finally, the ABC Christmas Challenge is X for Christmas with the optional added extra of flowers, so I popped one onto my snowflake.

My stamp is Anitas & the paper Dovecraft from a coulpe of years back.

Icy Snoowie

Well after failing miserably to do a sketch challenge last night, I moved onto a different sketch and proceeded at pace to make tonights card!

The sketch is part of this weeks Allsorts Challenge, and as the colours are icy blues I can also enter this one into this weeks I Love Promarkers Challenge which was icy colours.

The image is Magnolia Snoowie, but the rest of the card used is untitled & from our local papermill at Stoneywood.

Meow

I've made this card using a PB stamp and the layout given in the Papertake Weekly Challenge. All other items were bits & bobs on the craft table but don't know what make they are!

I'm also entering this one into the Alphabet Challenge Blog as they are on c for cats and I love my cats!

& Into the Wagsnwhiskers Challenge where you had to use acetate tissue or vellum - I've used dotty vellum.

Finally I'm also entering it into the Cute Card Thursday Challenge which is, anything goes.

PB Lady

Firstly I'd like to thank the PB team for picking me as the winner last week & for awarding me such a great prize. Went about smiling all day and couldn't keep off the craft table as a result!

So for this weeks Penny Black Saturday Challenge the theme was favourite things - I've therefore used one of my favourite & most used PB stamps. I also had to be using my Cuttlebug as that's one of my favourite pieces of crafty kit & finally a bit of paper piecing as I love that technique too.

I also love buttons, & by popping on a couple I can enter the Crafty Creations Challenge. Jx

Eye Spy!

I love this PB sentiment stamp & tend to use it on it's own-e-oh instead of combining it with an image. The card I've made follows the layout in the Friday Sketchers Challenge, but I was alos trying to tie it in with the Top Tip Tuesday Challenge - only I wasn't quite sure what all the challenge wanted, it speals of colouring, birthday and image/sentiments??? As I've used the sentiment as my main image I hope it counts, but if I've missed the point, please let me know! Jx

Rugby

This is the first time I've used this Sugar Nellie stamp which I bought in the summer, but as there is rugby on TV I thought I'd give him an airing!

I've followed the sketch in this weeks Sugarbowl Challenge, but instead of the doily I've done a rugby ball circle. I've also raised the ball on the main image next to the played by double stamping it & placing it on a foam pad. Hopefully all these modifications are within the rules - apologies if not!

Now one of the basic grey backing papers was ripped before being applied so that's the challenge on Crafty Catz.

Finally, The Pixie Dust Studio challenge is "It's All About Men/Boys In Our Lives, so as my husband played rugby as a youth I thought I could do this one too. Jx

Santa's Hat

Tonight's card is made using a lovely PB image sent to me by my pal Sam. I've coloured it using a range of promarkers, then for that added Christmas glitz I've used stickles on the fur trim & bobble. Papers are Anita's Classic Christmas, (you'll be pleased to know the pack's almost finished now!) & the glitter snowflake is Papermania. Now this doesn't often happen for me, but it fits several challenges including;

Penny Black @ Allsorts - It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas
Penny Black Saturday Challenge - Let it Snow
Sir Stampalot - Christmas Traditions
Allsorts - Twas The Night Before Christmas
My Partner in Crafting Crime - Marker Madness
Top Tip Tuesday - Christmas Inspired

Baby Cards

I made some boy & girl baby cards at the weekend, these involved dry embossing, which is the challenge over on Crafty Cardmakers this week.

For the boy card I used my star folder & co-ordinating star buttons & for the girl I went with hearts.

Penny For The Guy

Over on Papertake this week the challenge is to make a male card, so I've chosen to do a baby card using my Sugar Nellie Messy Rabbit stamp & Joanna Sheen baby papers.

Friday 5 November 2010

Snoowie

Another white based Christmas card - not sure about it though - other people seem to do them so much better!

I've made it using my Magnolia Snoowie stamp, Anita's Classic Christmas paper & a Papermania snowflake brad. I'm entering it into this weeks ABC Christmas Challenge along with the I Love Promarkers Challenge which is snowflakes. Jx

Thursday 4 November 2010

Rudolph

What a great sketch this week on the Sketch Saturday Challenge - was a bit put off by the stripes to start off with, but I'm so glad I stuck with it cause I'm really pleased with the end result! Papers again Dovecraft Jolly Happy Christmas. I've also used glossy accents on the baubles around Rudolph's antlers and given him a nice red dew drop nose! Jx

Forever Friends

This Forever Friends stamp was a freebie off Creativity magazine last year & was perfect for a childs Christmas card which I was asked to make. So, using the lovely layout given by the Friday Sketchers team and my new Dovecraft Jolly Happy Christmas papers I made this little card. Jx

Christmas Tilda

This is one of my new Christmas Tilda's for 2010, there were so many lovely ones so the selection process was difficult, but this one made it to the shopping basket.

I've used her for this weeks Bah Humbug Challenge where the theme was presents. Jx

Alan's Trip To Mombasa

Well Alan is now back home after spending two fantastic weeks in Mombasa. The trip was organised by the Charity Books Abroad and whilst their the group distributed books to help with literacy projects in the area.

Books Abroad believes that, in the long term, education is what is required to help solve the worlds problems. With the power to read and write, the children of today will have a better understanding of the issues surrounding them.

Whilst there he visited orphanages & schools and helped teach some of the classes maths and geography. He also played football with the children & obtained first hand a better understanding of what it is like to live in a much less affluent society.

Wedding Day

Using the layout in this weeks Sugar Bowl Challenge, I made this quick wedding card for a friend using one of my favourite Sugar Nellie stamps. Jx
